Austin Roberts is a highly experienced systems engineer with a strong background in product development, architecture, and requirements development. He started his career at Boeing, where he worked as a structural engineer before becoming involved with developing software applications such as CASTLE, a work management and archiving system. He holds a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and has since worked for reputable organizations such as B/E Aerospace, Raytheon, and Rubin Observatory. Throughout his career, Austin has been heavily involved in Model Based Systems Engineering and has worked on hypersonics, a DOORS architecture, product development, verification, relicensing, and has lead several successful teams. Currently, Austin is the Lead Systems Engineer at Rubin Observatory, where he is performing MBSE for verification and commissioning of the telescope. Austin is also a contributor to the SysML 2.0 Specification at OMG, defining the future of SysML.
