I engineered the management framework for Expedia’s global macOS presence utilizing the Jamf Pro/Casper Suite. This included implementing a highly distributed, highly available, patch management solution which involved designing and documenting the process for on-boarding new office locations as well as distributing content to Internet endpoints that spanned three continents. To accommodate these varying needs, I developed multiple Self Service solutions and custom portals to handle secure data.After a couple years in that role, I took an opportunity to grow my skills in another role managing Expedia’s on-premises Linux infrastructure on the Systems and Core Services team. In this capacity, I stabilized our Puppet environment, promoted consistency across the various environments, and implemented an approval process and code pipeline to ensure future stability and enable work to proceed in a more agile fashion. I also worked on a number of greenfield projects, including spearheading a project to transition to using Chef for configuration management. This involved rewriting nearly all of our legacy, organically grown, Puppet manifests into maintainable Chef cookbooks using best practices and test-driven development. I have been part of the growing agile transformation at Expedia and enjoy working on an agile team.

While working at ADP Dealer Services, now CDK Global, I managed their global macOS Infrastructure. I was responsible for policy management and infrastructure design and implementation regarding management of macOS client machines. I utilized JAMF’s Caper Suite, in conjunction with more traditional tools, to implement policies and processes to manage our machines using a mixture or shell scripts, written policies, remote desktop support, and custom application packaging. This was done using a combination of macOS Server, CentOS, and Ubuntu platform servers.

I worked at Wizards of the Coast, subsidiary of Hasbro, as the IT Support Analyst III managing their macOS Infrastructure. I was primarily responsible for designing and maintaining the macOS management framework and the macOS and Red Hat servers responsible for integrating the macOS into the enterprise environment. I implemented processes and policies around macOS management and worked closely with the clients to determine their needs to come up with solutions. I used the Casper Suite in conjunction with Apple Remote Desktop and SSH on a daily basis and am well versed in shell scripting and custom application packaging. I designed and setup infrastructure to manage mobile devices as well, including iOS and Android devices.

I worked as a Mac Genius at the University Village Apple Store location. While there, our genius team received numerous awards for excellence in service and was ranked as one of the top 5 stores in the world for quality of service as well as turn around time in completing repairs. As part of the genius team I not only managed repairs and provided service options to customers but I also was responsible for providing quick, efficient, and complete technical support and training to around 150 people during any given week.
