Shawn Rutledge is an accomplished machine learning practitioner with over a decade of experience building AI solutions across diverse verticals such as financial services, e-commerce, and social media. He has served as a technology executive for companies such as IBM, First Data, and Expedia, and has also been a principal contributor, leader, and/or advisor to more than a dozen Seattle area startups.

With specialties in machine learning, AI, deep learning, and text analysis, Shawn is experienced in building and implementing solutions for topics such as classification, NLP, sentiment analysis, and information retrieval. His experience also includes building recommender systems and personalization, fraud risk and threat detection, computer vision, data mining, statistics, big data, cloud computing, building teams, and strategic thinking.

Shawn studied at both Stanford University and Washington State University, and has held various leadership and scientific roles in organizations such as Nordstrom, Sigma IQ, kFold Enterprises, and Visible Technologies. he also served as a board advisor in the field of machine learning and AI.
