Derek Johnson, also known as DJ, is a multifaceted professional in the entertainment industry. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Film/Cinema/Video Studies from Florida State University, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy, Johnson has a well-rounded education that has prepared him for a career in writing and directing.

Johnson began his career in theater, and his passion for storytelling led him to explore other mediums, specifically films, where he has found much success. Several of his films have been recognized with awards, evidence of Johnson's talent and expertise.

His professional history includes roles as Writer/Director at Sweating Sand, Ripped Padding, and Assistant Director at Her Voice. Additionally, he has worked as a Production Assistant on various film sets, such as A Familiar Stranger, Can't Without You, and Today Tomorrow and the Day After That. Notably, he has also been a Student Intern at Disney's Parks and Resorts and a Gameskeeper at Islands of Adventure, showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.
