Marco Chavarín is a seasoned community and economic development professional, with over twelve years of experience in leading financial inclusion and economic justice initiatives aimed at low-income communities. He has worked with the philanthropic sector, federal regulators, financial institutions, and municipal leaders to design and implement products and services that help hard-working families and underprivileged individuals gain access to the financial mainstream and build assets. His expertise and contributions in the field have earned him recognition and accolades from various organizations, including being a recipient of the "Heart of Financial Planning" award for his significant contributions to the field.

As Vice President of Community Development for Northern California at Citi and formerly Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Development at BALANCE, Chavarín has also served on the Board of Directors of HomeownershipSF, helping diverse and underserved households purchase and keep homes in San Francisco. Moreover, he co-chaired San Francisco's Smart Money Network with the Charles Schwab Foundation and was on the Board of Directors of Central American Resource Center (CARECEN).

Mr. Chavarín is also an artist passionate about portraying the beauty of Latinx culture through traditional Mexican folk art known as “papel picado.” He is an alumnus of Coro Northern California Community Leaders Program and holds a degree in Community and Regional Development, Economic Development from the University of California, Davis.
