Rafael Brown is a veteran in the videogame industry, boasting over 26 years of experience working on more than 30 projects. He has held various positions throughout his career, including studio head/co-founder, game designer, creative director, producer, and project lead. Brown's expertise lies in the development of games, virtual worlds, XR, and interactive simulations. He enjoys building projects and teams and specializes in creative direction, game design, and project leadership for a range of studios. His development platforms include HTC Vive VR, Oculus Rift VR, Sony PSVR, Samsung Gear VR, iOS/Android, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation, Nintendo, Windows, and Mac OS. Brown has done creative direction, game design, and project leadership for several studios with experience in VR, 1st, 3rd, vehicles across action, combat, adventure, stealth, platforming, RPG, racing, combat, open world, and multiplayer gameplay types in studios large and small. Brown studied Psychology and Africana Studies at Brown University and founded several companies throughout his career, including Symbol Zero, Digital Leaf Design, Rust Nebula, ConductXR, and Digital Myths. He has spoken at events such as the Augmented World Expo, SVVR Conf&Expo, Samsung Next lecture series, and SF IGDA Chapter and has developed several unreleased games such as Jade Empire 2, Gun 2, True Crime 3&4, and Thunder Rally.
