Served as second-in-command editor of award-winning, four-color, 104-page, 35,000-circulation, monthly magazine covering the meetings and conventions industry and annually generating more than $4 million in ad revenue.> Partnered with the Editor in Chief in tracking global trends in business, leadership, culture, and other areas, and developing story ideas that related those trends to meetings and conventions — all in service to Convene’s mission of bringing an entrepreneurial, high-altitude perspective to strategic-minded meeting professionals.> Served as Convene’s primary assignment and copy editor, supervising a full-time Senior Editor/Director of Digital Content, Associate Editor, and Digital Editor, and also regularly reporting and writing feature articles and departments for the print magazine and website.> Helped develop and evolve Convene’s online presence, including a stand-alone website and a weekly enewsletter, and expand its multiplatform content.> Managed editorial coverage of PCMA’s annual meeting for the PCMA Daily newspaper, working both in advance of and on site during the meeting.> Worked closely with PCMA’s business-development and partnership staff to develop innovative revenue-generating products, including sponsored departments, special sections, and outserts.

Recruited to launch a new communications and publications business unit for a professional-services firm already providing management, event planning, and consulting for national and international nonprofit organizations.> Provided varying degrees of publications and communications services for all Coulter management clients, including editorial direction for magazines and newsletters; creative direction and production management for marketing collateral, ads, annual reports, and other membership materials; and production support for various print publications.> Served as Editor of Making Waves, a four-color, 40-page, 2,000-circulation, quarterly magazine published by the Alliance for Women in Media.> Served as Interim Editor of Association Publishing, a four-color, 32-page, 1,300-circulation, bimonthly magazine published by Association Media & Publishing.

Oversaw a stable of periodicals — one magazine and four newsletters — covering specific aspects of the community association industry. Responsible for customizing CAI’s message for each audience, and for developing and managing a $300,000 annual periodicals budget.> Managed all aspects of editorial production for Common Ground, an award-winning, four-color, 64-page, 30,000-circulation, bimonthly magazine, including assigning, editing, and/or writing all feature articles and departments, and supervising a production team made up of a creative director, two designers, two production editors, an advertising manager, a board of contributing editors, and freelance writers.> Conceived and directed a complete redesign that expanded popular departments, broadened the editorial focus to include industry issues and current events, and unveiled a bolder, cleaner design.> Promoted to Director of Periodicals in recognition of successful management of Common Ground. Supervised a full-time editor who produced four targeted newsletters.
