Rebecca Fons
Rebecca Fons is a renowned film programmer with over a decade of experience curating in art houses and film festivals. Fons has a Master's degree in Media Management from Columbia College Chicago and a BA in Film and Comparative Literature/American Studies from the University of Iowa. As the Director of Programming at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Fons is responsible for showcasing cinema that is diverse, inclusive, and exceptional. Fons has worked closely with exhibitors, distributors, filmmakers, scholars, and industry colleagues to connect films and filmmakers with global audiences. In her previous roles, Fons served as the Co-Founder of Destroy Your Art, Programming Director at The Iowa Theatre, Director of Film at Gorton Community Center, Programming Director at FilmScene, and Adjunct Instructor at Columbia College Chicago, and Education Director at Cinema/Chicago.
