She obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of Melbourne, where she studied English and Asian Studies, while she also pursued a Master's degree in Editing and Communications. She worked as the Director of Communications at Carousell, a regional consumer PR manager at Netflix, and the APAC corporate PR lead at Rakuten. She has also worked in public relations, both for Strategic Public Relations Group and Ogilvy Public Relations.

Recently, Nei has been the Regional Publicity Manager at Netflix, where she has been responsible for promoting the streaming giant in the Asia-Pacific region. Before that, she was the owner of Scent Library, a company that created custom fragrances. Her other notable role was as Country Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore.
