Peter DiMaria is a renowned figure in digital music and video, known for his innovative ideas and creative leadership. With a focus on product strategy, descriptive metadata, and information architecture, he has made significant contributions to the industry's music editorial, curation, and programming. As Head of Content Architecture & Discovery at Gracenote, he is responsible for driving new product concepts and designing the company's radio, recommendation, taste profiling, and other media discovery solutions.
Peter's long list of accomplishments includes developing and championing the original product concept and acquisition strategy for "Listen Anywhere," which subsequently launched as Rhapsody, the world's first on-demand, cloud-based digital music subscription service. He also co-founded Tunes Network, Inc., creators of Tunes.com, a pioneering music discovery website, where he launched numerous industry firsts in music taste profiling, personalization, navigation, and recommendation.
He holds 20 U.S. patents in fields including music mood classification, perceived tempo determination, taste profiling, playlist generation, and adaptive user interfaces for media discovery & navigation. Peter studied MBA, Strategic Management & Marketing at The Wharton School and BS, Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business.
