Cristal holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has taught at various academic institutions, including Harvard Law School and the Sorbonne. He is also the co-founder of the International Negotiation and Crisis Management Institute and serves as a mediator for the United Nations.
