They're about our journey into the woods of ourselves: getting to know who we are, where we are, and where we're going in life so that we can create the life we want to live. They're about deepening your connection with yourself, taking inspired action, and really trusting yourself and your intuition.

Secretum Mundi is a new kind of publisher: one where the reader is King. Secretum Mundi believes that books should be beautiful objects as well as a gripping read. Instead, their books are sumptuously bound with marbled end-papers, printed on wood-free paper, with a dedication inspired by the great bookbinders of centuries past. 

I am involved with online marketing and social media marketing for Secretum Mundi, including strategic use of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Goodreads, and YouTube to develop an online presence for the authors at Secretum Mundi Publishing. This is a freelance position, as I provide services through my company, Tribal Publishing.

My role involved the development and implementation of the online and social media marketing plan for the company, and liaising with the MD on all stages of the website/social media strategy and development. I was also responsible for raising brand awareness and coordinating with the MD to increase the existing client base, as well as identifying new markets within our main industry sectors. This was a short-term contract. 

The Pinterest boards I created for Carousel were featured as an example of how to share valuable resources on Pinterest in Radian6's "4 Approaches to Sharing Social Media Content on Pinterest" post (http://bit.ly/SNSaTF). 

The Pinterest board I created for hiring new people at Carousel was featured in The Undercover Recruiter blog's "How To Use Pinterest for Social Recruiting [Cool Example]" post (http://bit.ly/19izPrA). 

Responsibilities within the company included: 

• Blogging: Development of editorial calendar and regular creation of content for the two company blogs. 
• Content Marketing: Planning and writing of regular client and candidate e-newsletters and content to be shared online. 
• Social Media Marketing: Strategic use of Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Pinterest to converse with job seekers and clients, promote the brand, and drive traffic to the website. 
• Web copywriting: Development of new website concept and optimised content.

My involvement in the newspaper also included writing articles in both English and Spanish, as well as page layout. I began this company with a business partner in 1999, starting out with just one hotel in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico. My experience at Enchanting Group gave me valuable startup, business, and online marketing experience, and it shaped the way I help clients today. 

Responsibilities within the company included: 
•	Online Marketing: Website design, content writing and translation, SEO. 
•	Social Media Marketing: Use of Twitter, WordPress, and Facebook.
•	SEM/PPC: Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing.
•	PR: Writing and distributing press releases, media relations, organisation of photo shoots on location. 
•	Sales & Customer Service: Hotel reservations, guest relations, travel agent negotiations. 
•	Project Direction: Coordination of all areas of the company in the development of new projects, especially in the areas of marketing and sales. 

During my years at Enchanting Group, I: 
•	Designed and co-ordinated the construction/remodelling of all three hotels. Developed and implemented operations manuals and procedures for hotel staff.  
•	Conceptualised and developed Maya Spa, our holistic spa, providing unique Mayan treatments for guests at all three hotels.  
•	Recruited and managed staff in a company of over one hundred and fifty staff and service providers in three countries, including a team of up to one hundred and twenty in three boutique eco hotels in Tulum, Mexico, twenty five staff members in the company’s commercial and administrative office in Buenos Aires and up to ten people at our property in Patagonia, Chile. 
•	Oversaw operations and supervised budgets in three countries: Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. 
•	Drafted and executed a strategic online marketing plan with strong work in PPC and SEO that led to 86% of all hotel occupation from our websites, with 5% walk-ins, and only 9% of sales generated by travel agents, saving the company expensive agent commissions.

As one of two co-founders of the company, I was involved in the startup and concept development of the hotels. My experience at EcoTulum Hotels & Spas gave me valuable startup, business, and online marketing experience, and it shaped the way I help clients today.

I was responsible for both Rooms Division and Food & Beverage, including supervision of: front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, bars, stock/inventory. I was in charge of hiring, training, team development, and motivation. I was also able to put my creativity to work in the innovation of hotel services and spa treatments. 

In conjunction with our spa staff, I created Tulum’s first holistic spa, featuring over twenty two traditional Mayan treatments, including the area’s first temazcal sweat lodge, all treatments carried out by local therapists. 

I developed the initial communications materials for the company, including preparation and writing of all original content of the company’s twelve websites and press releases, in both English and Spanish. I launched PR and marketing campaigns for the opening of all hotels, focusing on the generation of sales from our own websites rather than through travel agents. I focused on media relations, establishing relationships with journalists and photographers to exchange hotel stays for publications, fashion shoots, and photography, thus extending the reach of each year’s marketing and publicity budget.
