Nkiruka Avila is a technical product manager with a passion for bringing about positive change through effective technical communication, coalition-building, and bottom-up stakeholder engagement in the clean energy technology sector. With a strong academic background in renewables integration, energy access, and climate policy, Avila has studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned multiple degrees, including a PhD in Energy and Resources. Before becoming an Expert Innovation Engineer specializing in microgrids at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Avila worked as the Energy Lead at Mekong Basin Connect Initiative and held various positions at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, PerkinElmer at Environmental Defense Fund, and ONEOK. Avila is also a former board member of GRID Alternatives Bay Area and a Climate CoLab Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
