Ed Presz is a highly experienced Data Engineering leader who has a notable track record in developing world-class OLTP databases as well as end-to-end data architectures. With over twenty years of experience in the tech industry, Ed has a wealth of experience in building high-performing Data Engineering teams that enable companies to make informed, data-driven decisions based on high-quality, highly-available data.
After studying Computer Science with a minor in Economics at Harvard University, Ed started his career as a Database Platform Manager at PeopleSoft, where he designed database solutions to support the largest on-sales in the ticketing/entertainment industry. Ed then worked for several years as a Vice President, Database Engineering at Ticketmaster, where he was responsible for developing and implementing new SQL/NoSQL solutions to power Advanced Analytics and Data Science Teams.
Currently serving as Vice President of Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Database Reliability Engineering at Eventbrite, Ed is a seasoned leader who has a collaborative approach to management, teamwork, and delivering state-of-the-art data solutions. He has supported the data and ticketing requirements for three Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing, and London) and is a frequent speaker at Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB Conferences.
