Jim Timmins has over 35 years of experience in the technology industry as a business appraiser, expert witness, venture capitalist, and investment banker. With a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Toronto - University of Trinity College, his vast knowledge has led him to become the Managing Director at Teknos Associates. Jim has appraised more than 3,000 fairness opinions and valuations, many of which have been reviewed by audit firms and utilized in SEC filings. He is skilled in valuating stock for equity incentives and complex valuation for post-acquisition purchase price allocation and asset impairment testing. Jim has extensive experience with intellectual property and other intangibles as well as ASC 718, 350, and 360. He has served as an expert witness on behalf of various technology companies, financial institutions, the IRS, and law firms in cases ranging from business value to venture capital practice. He has experience in expert report preparation and rebuttal, deposition, and trial, including state and federal, bench and jury, Copyright Royalty Board, civil and FINRA arbitration. With the impressive list of accomplishments, Jim is accredited as an ASA in both Business Valuation and Intangible Assets, a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics, and a Certified Equity Professional.
