Wayne Soon

Wayne Soon is an Assistant Professor of East Asian History at Vassar College, USA. He has a Bachelor's degree in History and International Relations from Carleton College and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in History from Princeton University. Wayne's research interests lie in the fields of medicine, institutional building, and diaspora, and how these have influenced China's interaction with its people and the world in the twentieth century. Currently, Wayne is working on a book manuscript titled "Biomedicine with Overseas Chinese Characteristics, 1910-1970." In addition, he has published articles and book reviews in Twentieth Century China, Bulletin of the History of Medicine, Asian Studies Review, The Historian, and East Asian Science, Technology and Society: An International Journal. Prior to joining Vassar, Wayne was an Assistant Professor of History at Earlham College. Overall, Wayne's expertise in East Asian History and his vast knowledge of medicine and diaspora make him an excellent asset to any institution that values diversity and interdisciplinary collaboration.
