Julius Horsthuis
Julius Horsthuis is a talented Visual Effects designer and Fractal artist. Born in Amsterdam in 1980, he developed a passion for film and video at a young age. Julius started working on various film sets after high school and also finished a one-year video study in the Open Studio. During this time, he also developed an interest in computer graphics. He worked for several years for different (post) production companies such as Revolver, Carbon, and Hectic Electric. Hectic Electric, in particular, allowed him to work on many big films such as "De Storm," "Sonny Boy," and "Nova Zembla" where he supervised the creative aspects of visual effects.
Years of experience on the movie set proved invaluable for Julius' current success in the visual arts industry. In 2014, Julius started experimenting with Fractal Environments and became one of the most recognized Fractal artists in the world. His fractal short films, immersive experiences, and VR experiences have been exhibited in galleries and film festivals around the world, including the IX Symposium in the Satosphere Montreal and the Cineglobe festival in CERN. His experimental Virtual Reality experiences were some of the best-rated VR experiences on the Oculus Rift website.
Julius' fractal art has also garnered international attention through publications such as The Creators Project, Motionographer, and CGChannel. His creative approach to fractal art has solidified his place as one of the most innovative and talented artists in the industry.
