Sabriya Stukes, PhD, is an accomplished microbiologist, educator, and science communicator with a passion for fostering equitable and inclusive environments in the STEM disciplines. Stukes holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Virginia Tech and a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology and Immunology with a focus on Host Pathogen Interactions from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. With over a decade of experience in research and teaching, she is currently the founding Assistant Director of the Master's in Translational Medicine (MTM) program at The City College of New York, a graduate degree that educates and trains scientists and engineers in the hands-on process of medical technology commercialization and healthcare innovation. She also serves as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the college. Stukes has previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Technician, and PhD Graduate Student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, interned as a Science Writer, and worked as a Communications Assistant at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She is also the co-founder of Connect With STEM, a group that promotes STEM education for underrepresented students. Stukes is a skillful collaborator, critical thinker, and effective communicator, with a particular interest in building sustainable healthcare solutions that work for all and not just some.
