He has held numerous senior-level positions in compliance and legal departments at top financial institutions, including Coinbase, Tagomi, and E D & F Man Capital Markets Inc. With nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Alan has also held roles as a COO, Managing Director, and General Counsel.

As Senior Manager of Financial Institutions Compliance and Regulatory at Coinbase, Alan provides strategic oversight and guidance on regulatory compliance matters. His previous roles as Chief Compliance Officer, SVP Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Regulatory Officer at other financial organizations have given him a wealth of experience managing and mitigating compliance and regulatory risks in complex financial environments. Before his executive roles, Alan worked as an attorney at Reuters and as a Senior Legal Counsel at the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission.
