Sharon Gai 🦾
Sharon Gai is a bilingual and culture-lingual ecommerce professional with over a decade of experience in the e-commerce, electronics, and hardware industry. She is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York and McGill University, where she earned a Master's of Science in Management Information Systems and a Honours Bachelor's degree in International Development Studies, respectively.
Gai is a well-known keynote speaker at various events related to Ecommerce, New Retail, China tech, and Digital Transformation. She was also one of 20 foreign professionals selected from over 6,000 applicants, with only 0.3% acceptance rate, to participate in Alibaba Group's global leadership development program, created by Jack Ma.
Gai has held various roles within Alibaba, including Category Manager at Tmall (FMCG) and currently serves as the Head of Global Key Accounts in the Tmall Overseas team. In this role, she enables global brands to leverage Alibaba's overseas e-commerce platforms, helping them to craft their digital marketing and online e-commerce strategy in China.
Gai has also worked with large conglomerates to emerging internet-viral brands in the FMCG industry. Prior to her role at Alibaba, Gai was a Regional BDM-OTT and Emerging Technologies at Telstra, a Knowledge Management Consultant at Intel Corporation, a Senior Account Director at INAP, an E-commerce Manager at Insight, and a Marketing Manager at Samsung Electronics America.
