John Shields is a seasoned investment management executive and strategic consultant, with a wealth of leadership experience and subject matter expertise in the financial services sector. He has served as the chief executive of three prominent investment management firms and holds director positions at several mutual fund complexes. Shields also served as a consultant at two of the top management consulting firms in the industry, where he contributed to strategy, distribution, new business, product development, and compliance.

He began his career at one of the oldest broker-sold investment management complexes in the country, where he gained extensive knowledge in sales, marketing, and product development. Shields also worked at one of the largest mutual fund firms in the nation, where he handled mutual fund operations, administration, and customer service, as well as acquisition activities in the firm's venture capital operation.

Over the course of his career, Shields has accrued significant experience in compliance and regulatory matters for financial services firms. He spent nearly 13 years in public accounting at a top "big 4" firm in New York, where he served as an auditor, accountant, and regulatory consultant for securities broker/dealers and mutual fund companies. Shields later led the investment management regulatory consulting practice at a national, publicly-traded consulting firm.

Shields holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Saint Peter's University. He currently serves on the board of directors of EverQuote and previously held independent director positions at Vestmark, Inc., and Cogo Labs. Shields was also the former President of Advisor Guidance, Inc. and former Independent Trustee and Chair of Audit Committee at Domini Funds.
