Brett Marais is an accomplished agriculture consultant specializing in water and energy efficient and sustainable irrigation systems. With over 30 years of experience, Brett has designed and built large scale pump and irrigation systems in Africa, and more recently has helped farming clients achieve good management compliance through evaluation and design of efficient irrigation systems in New Zealand. Brett holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, and has studied Certificate in Project Management at New Zealand Institute of Management, and National Certificate in Adult Education and Training, Level 5 at Upskill New Zealand, which has provided him with the knowledge and skills to lead successful projects. Previously, Brett held positions such as Technical Manager at Irrigation NZ, Director at Africa Asia Development and Agriculture, and Project Manager Research at Opus International Consultants Limited. In his current role as Independent Consultant at AADA Consulting NZ Limited, Brett applies his extensive experience to help farming clients achieve efficient, sustainable, and compliant irrigation systems. Outside of work, Brett is an "Active Relaxer" who finds spiritual renewal through open water swimming in Wellington Harbour.
