Alex Demetriou is a seasoned professional with over 16 years of experience leading chartered accounting firms in Australia and Singapore. As the leader of KPMG's Accelerating Business Growth services in South Australia, Western Australia, and Northern Territory, he assists large organizations, executives, entrepreneurs, and investors in funding their innovation and growth plans. Alex holds a double degree in Commerce and Finance from the University of Adelaide and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Taxation Institute of Australia. He specializes in helping Australian companies succeed in global markets through innovation and has a deep understanding of the ATO and AusIndustry's approach to R&D compliance activities.

Furthermore, Alex has extensive exposure to working with some of Australia's biggest ASX-listed corporations and has worked with clients such as Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank while working with KPMG's Singapore R&D practice. He also has extensive experience with a broad range of clients, particularly in the ICT sector, assisting them in accessing Tax Incentives and Grants. Additionally, he has a comprehensive understanding of government grants available to help his clients improve their business processes. Alex has been involved in various KPMG teams advising on the strategic approach, planning, management, delivery, and acquittal of large State and Commonwealth Grants.

Alex is not only a veteran in the finance and accounting industry but also an active member of his community. He served as the President of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia Parish of St Dimitrios and now serves on the Board of the Greek Welfare Centre of SA - St Philothei.
