Candace Burckhardt
Candace Burckhardt is an accomplished education professional, consultant, and researcher with extensive experience in teaching, special education, and student services. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from The Johns Hopkins University, a Masters in Teaching from Marian College, and a B.A. in Political Science, History, and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With her passion for education and learning, Candace has provided professional development and consultation to schools on various topics such as building trauma-informed classrooms, English Language Learners, brain-based teaching strategies, mindfulness and meditation, and behavior management.
Candace's expertise has led her to various positions in education. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Student Services at Robbinsdale Area Schools in Minnesota, the Special Education Coordinator at Indigo Education, the Special Education Coordinator at Hiawatha Academies, and the Education Coordinator at Envision Experience, among others. Candace's experience in teaching and leadership roles has been widely recognized throughout her career. She has served as the Special Education Teacher at the Medford Area School District, the Academy Director at New Vision Wilderness, and the Vice-Principal and Elementary Teacher at Escuela Futuro Verde.
In addition to her academic achievements and professional roles, Candace has been active in various organizations, including Teach for America, Amnesty International, McBurney Disability Resource Center, and Brookfield Central High School. Her experience in these roles has given her a unique appreciation for diversity, inclusivity, and advocacy.
