Jay Lurie
Jay Lurie, a seasoned finance professional with a focus on sustainable investments and shared prosperity, currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer at DC Green Bank. With more than a decade of experience in financing infrastructure and energy projects in developing countries, Lurie joined DC Green Bank in October 2020 to lead origination, structuring, funding mobilization, and portfolio management. DC Green Bank is an independent agency established by the Green Finance Authority Establishment Act of 2018 that aims to increase access to funding for clean energy installation and energy efficiency improvements in the District of Columbia.
Before taking on the executive role at DC Green Bank, Lurie served as a Senior Investment Officer at IFC-International Finance Corporation, the private sector financing arm of the World Bank Group. In this position, he led several equity, debt, and PPP transactions in Asia, Europe and Latin America. A BBA graduate with high distinction in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan-Stephen M. Ross School of Business, Lurie also holds a master's in International Economics and International Development from The Johns Hopkins University-Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Lurie's work interests focus on sustainable investments to combat climate change while advancing equity. He has received several industry awards, including from Infrastructure Journal and Partnerships Bulletin, for his project work, and his articles have featured in Project Finance magazine. Outside of work, Lurie takes great interest in refugee resettlement and awareness, sustainable food initiatives, and striving to live a more eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle.
