Bryan Staff is an experienced financial professional who currently serves as the Founder and Managing Partner at Merchant Investment Management. Prior to this, he has held various senior-level positions in renowned organizations. Before joining Merchant, he was a Partner at GPS Investment Partners and helped grow Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments into one of the largest independent broker-dealers in the country. Bryan's expertise lies in advisory and dually-registered transition processes, driving strategy for inorganic growth opportunities for partner firms and managing key custodial and institutional partner relationships.

Bryan began his career as a financial analyst in the commercial banking group at Brown Brothers Harriman. Later, he joined the investment banking group at Josephthal & Co. Inc. and then moved to Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. where he worked as a senior associate in the leveraged finance group, specializing in leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and other opportunistic refinancings. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University and an MBA from The Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester, where he specialized in finance and accounting.
