Zohaib Ali
Zohaib Ali is a rising star in the Pakistani tech industry, with a diverse background spanning finance, management, and entrepreneurship. After graduating from Lahore University of Management Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Zohaib initially pursued a career in financial trading, gaining valuable experience as a Foreign Exchange Trader at Pepperstone and an Investment Intern at Everest Capital. However, he soon realized that he wanted to make a more significant impact in a traditional industry, leading him to launch Airlift Technologies in January 2019.
Airlift Technologies quickly became a household name in Pakistan, disrupting the mass transit market with its smart-bus solution and raising the region's largest Series A round in record time. This success positioned Zohaib as a leading figure in Pakistan's startup ecosystem, and he went on to co-found Dastgyr, a B2B e-commerce marketplace connecting small retailers to suppliers in Pakistan. In his daily role at Dastgyr, Zohaib is focused on scaling the platform and cementing its place as Pakistan's largest B2B e-commerce solution.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Zohaib is passionate about using technology and innovation to tackle social issues. He has a particular interest in hyper-scale and artificial intelligence, and his ultimate goal is to create an AI Hedge Fund and a self-sustaining charity fund to alleviate poverty in the region. In his spare time, Zohaib enjoys trading shares on the NYSE, jogging, and meeting with Pakistan's political elite over coffee.
