Ann Marie Thigpen is a well-accomplished nonprofit consultant, writer, speaker, and strategist. With over 400+ experiences working with boards of directors and nonprofit organizations, Ann Marie has become an award-winning lecturer and mentor for the United Nations Peacekeepers’ Leadership Training Institute in Brindisi, Italy. She has also been a member of the New York State Attorney General’s Committee for Nonprofit Revitalization, selecting outstanding nonprofit organizations for Excellence in Nonprofit Management awards for the New York metropolitan area.

Ann Marie began her career as a Business Communication Lecturer at Penn State University before becoming the Director of the Nonprofit Resource Center at the Community Foundation of Broward. Later on, she developed innovative initiatives for social justice organizations at Adelphi University, including Learning to Lead, Building for Change, and Side by Side. Ann Marie has worked as a freelance communication consultant, writing over 50 case statements for national and regional organizations, and as a consultant to community and family foundations. Her competencies include board development, fundraising, strategic planning, leadership transition/executive search, and strategic alliances, among others.
