Michael Schneider is an accomplished risk management executive with extensive experience in the banking industry. Schneider is currently the Head of Advisory & Risk Innovations in Group Risk Management at Commerzbank AG, where he leads two main pillars of the team: Advisory and Risk Innovations. Prior to his current role, Schneider held various positions within Commerzbank AG, including Head of Credit in different countries, Sector Head, and Project Innovation Office Risk.

Schneider holds a degree in Diplom Kaufmann Betriebswirtschaftslehre from Johannes-Gutenberg Universität in Mainz, alongside studying Bankkaufmann at Berufsbildende Schule 1 Mainz. His professional experience and high-level education make him a valuable asset to the Commerzbank team.

As Head of Advisory, Schneider acts as the central interface for the units in the risk function, particularly with regards to fundamental, legal, procedural, and organizational issues. Furthermore, he supports management in strategic and project-related issues. Under Risk Innovations, Schneider focuses on the implementation of innovations for the bank's risk function. He sources, selects, pilots, and implements external ideas and innovations, usually through cooperation or licensing of a startup solution.
