Maria McKinley

Maria McKinley, a dedicated software developer with a passion for creating high-quality software using the latest best coding practices, has a dynamic background. Prior to becoming a Senior Software Engineer at The Walt Disney Company, she served as an instructor at the University of Washington and Software Carpentry, a software developer, and a Sysadmin at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, University of Washington, and Columbia University. Maria's diverse experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington Engineered Biomaterials, where she also served as a Particle Physics Laboratory Instructor. Before launching her programming career, she was a highly trained Diesel truck mechanic in the US Army. Maria credits her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with a German minor from the University of Washington for sharpening her critical thinking skills and fueling her passion for problem-solving. As a constantly growing and learning individual, Maria is constantly on the lookout for new challenges and ways to grow.
