Carl Thomas is the Founder and CEO of miPic, a UK-based startup aimed at empowering people globally to bring their pictures to life and earn money with a simple upload. He is also a UK Chartered Architect with a background in art, design, and love for technology. Carl combines his passion for design and his entrepreneurial spirit to bring miPic to life. With a 2009 First Class - Masters MArch degree, nominated for 'The RIBA President Medals Silver Award' for Thesis Project: Drift to Stanley Dock, Carl has garnered credits in the world of Architectural design. In 2015, he secured a £170k Crowdcube seed investment to build and launch miPic v1.0, and in 2017, he secured a £1.1m Seed Investment. Carl has won several awards, including the Innovation & People’s Choice award for Virgin’s Pitch to Rich VOOM. Over the years, miPic has featured in several publications like Cosmopolitan, Ideal Home, Virgin, Inc.com, The Daily Mail, The Next Web, Good Housekeeping, The Mirror, Dice, Startups.co.uk, and others, showing the company's ubiquitous growth. Carl is a tech-savvy architect and entrepreneur with a consumer/end-user mindset. He has experience working in architectural practices of all scales and sectors, such as luxury residential, social housing, specialist & sheltered housing. Carl is passionate about design and enjoys working in a team or in isolation. He is equally comfortable managing clients and investors at the boardroom level.
