Joao Menezes is a renowned Portguese lawyer turned film director, producer, and cultural expert. Graduated in Law from the prestigious University of Coimbra Law School in 1994, he became a member of the Portuguese Bar Association in 1996. However, his passion for cinema took him to London in 1997, where he worked as a production assistant, second assistant director, and voice artist, among others. During his stay in the UK, he pursued further education in directing for film and TV at Raindance, sword and dagger, and unarmed combat at the London Academy of Stage and Screen Combat, and creative writing at Escuela de Escritores de Madrid.

His film debut, Akasha (2001), was distributed in Russia, nominated for the Méliès d'Argent for best European fantastic film, and premiered at the Fantasporto Festival and the Atlanta Film Festival. He has since then filmed numerous shorts and music videos, collaborated with Hollywood and Bollywood, and produced and directed cultural and entertainment programs for different channels, including a series for RTP and Channel 11.

Returning to Portugal in 2015, he founded Menezes Entertainment, his production company, and delved into the music industry, producing Sandra Correia's album and concerts, among others. He honed his expertise in this field and earned several nominations and awards, such as Best Music Video at the International Portuguese Music Awards in 2017 and Best World Traditional Album at the Independent Music Awards in 2019.

In 2020, he became the Legal Director of Alphabet Factor Lda and an Accredited Expert at the European Commission, focusing on the cinema industry. His extensive and diverse background in law, film, music, and culture has positioned him as a versatile and knowledgeable professional who understands the intricacies and dynamics of the creative and entertainment industries from different angles.
