Franklin Cockerill is a distinguished medical professional and scientist, with diverse and extensive experience in microbiology, infectious diseases, and laboratory medicine. Dr. Cockerill earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Creighton University, and furthered his studies with a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed his internship at the University of Florida, and his Fellowship in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Cockerill further enhanced his expertise with Post-doctoral studies in Molecular Microbiology at the University of Toronto and the Mount Sinai Research Institute.

Dr. Cockerill has held several leadership roles throughout his career. He served as the President and CEO, Mayo Medical Laboratories at Mayo Clinic, and was also the Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Cockerill also has a keen interest in entrepreneurship, serving as Chief Executive Officer at FRC3Lab, LLC and Analyte Health.

Dr. Cockerill is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. He has been widely published in medical literature and is a sought-after speaker at conferences and in the media.
