• Developed/implemented Methanex’s government, regulatory, media and SR strategy
• Led global function with dotted-line to Chile, China, Egypt, Trinidad, U.S. and New Zealand 
• Chaired Methanol Institute’s (global trade association) Legislative and Regulatory Committee

Methanex Corporation

Developed and implemented Methanex’s government relations strategy in North America and actively supported global government advocacy activities. Advocacy scope ranged from trade to taxation to regulatory and environmental issues. 

• Achieved savings from successful advocacy to maintain import tariff on methanol 
• Advocated successfully on permitting process ahead of Alberta operation restart 
• Advocated to officials in various jurisdictions, including Canada, China, Egypt and the U.S.

Manager, Government Relations

Developed and implemented DuPont’s government relations strategy in Canada. Advocacy took place at all levels of government, across departments and focused on financial support for industrial projects, procurement and regulatory issues. 

• Initiated and led a government affairs and sales-to-government program for DuPont in Canada
• Advocated and obtained $3 million+ in Federal grants and loans for Quebec-based operations
• Advocated on chemicals, including Canadian government classification of Teflon®
