The Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic (LTFHC)
has been helping the communities living in the Lake Tanganyika Basin for over five years.

In this almost wholly neglected area we:

Deliver vital healthcare
Distribute necessary medical supplies
Establish important communications hubs
Gather essential medical data
Build strong relationships with the people and the governments of the region
WAVE- Water Based Aid, Value, Engagement

The conflict ridden, resource rich Lake Tanganyika Basin has become vital to the well-being and interests of the planet, and our work is now recognized as crucial to its stable growth and development. The pace of our being called upon for counsel by parties with strategic interests in the basin has been so significant that it encouraged us to also evaluate whether we should evolve our brand. WAVE is the result; we conduct our policy and advocacy work under this aegis.

With these new relationships, we also hope to generate increasing understanding of the value a floating hospital ship can have for millions living in the basin, as well as the strategic interests of those who wish to engage there.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

The Institute of Human Virology (IHV) is the first center in the United States - perhaps the world - to combine the disciplines of basic science, epidemiology and clinical research in a concerted effort to speed the discovery of diagnostics and therapeutics for a wide variety of chronic and deadly viral and immune disorders - most notably HIV, the cause of AIDS.  Steven's work with Dr. Gallo is to help raise awareness of IHV and support his efforts to find a cure for HIV/AIDS.

Steven is a member of the United States Department of State Fine Arts Committee, an advisory group in place to help raise money and awareness for our nation's Diplomatic Reception Rooms at the U.S. Department of State. The committee is also working on an education program with several other government agencies to further collaboration in the education of the art of diplomacy.

The Global Equality Fund was launched in December 2011 to support programs that advance the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons around the world. The Fund is a collaborative effort led by the U.S. Department of State, bridging government, companies and NGOs with the objective of empowering LGBT persons to live freely and without discrimination. I have worked directly with Secretary Clinton and now Secretary Kerry to raise awareness and support of the Global Equality Fund.

Vet Voice Foundation's mission is to help veterans continue to serve their country by speaking out on vital, national issues.  Among these issues is ensuring that war is a last resort - never a first option.  Vet Voice Foundation has also pioneered the movement towards clean, renewable energy as a national security issue, and continues to make the case that investment in renewable energy means less money flowing into the hands of those who would do us harm.

The Global Virus Network (GVN) has a unique mission: To establish through collabora-tion a global consortium which supports the investigating, identifying and preemptive re-sponse to viral threats.  As well as bringing preeminent virologists around the world together to work and create awareness and education around virology in order to help educate governments and health administrators as well as create a new generation of virologists.

GVN is working to create a network of experts to respond to viral outbreaks across all classes of viruses.  The value of bringing these experts together goes far beyond what we can imagine.  Viruses are an intrinsic part of the human biology and there is a common misperception that all viruses are alike.  By bringing the worlds experts together we can change the way the world responds to viral threats and outbreaks.  Improving surveillance and creating more effective responses to new viral threats will be one of the end results of this collaboration.

Positive Young People (PYP) Foundation. PYP is dedicated to decreasing the spread of HIV infections by encouraging positive choices among the nation’s youth. PYP also seeks to inspire youth to make positive choices in all aspects of their lives.In the United States, half of all new HIV infections are among people under the age of 25. Adolescents and young adults also account for the majority of new HIV infections throughout the world. Nationwide in the U.S., 87.9% of students have been taught in school about acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or HIV infection. But, according to CDC surveillance, adolescents and young adults continue to face substantial risks, illnesses and social problems.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) started in November 2002, when Justin Nelson and Chance Mitchell realized no one had really considered the economic equality of LGBT people or the impact economics could have on the equality movement. The two co-founders sought to showcase that LGBT people were business owners, employers, taxpayers, providers of healthcare – that they were a vibrant, essential part of the small business engine that makes the U.S. economy run and therefore, deserved a place at the equality table. As a member of the National Board of Directors, Steven has focused on governance, development, and strategy.
