Bing Howell is an accomplished education reform executive with over 15 years of experience in portfolio management, scaling quality school choice, and strategy. Howell has worked with communities to ensure that every kid has access to a world-class education. He studied for an MBA at CIMBA and the University of Kansas - Graduate School of Business, and a Masters in Urban Educational Leadership at the Broad Residency. He also holds a BS from Iowa State University.

Howell has held various roles, including Partner-School Investments at New Schools for Baton Rouge, Director-Office of Portfolio Management, Special Assistant to Deputy Commissioner at New Jersey Department of Education, and Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives, Teachers, and Leaders at Tennessee Department of Education, among others. He is currently the Chief Portfolio Officer at Chicago Public Schools and previously served as the Chief External Affairs Officer at Washington State Charter Schools Association (WA Charters) and the Interim Executive Director at Citizen Schools.

Howell has also worked as a consultant, analyst, and program manager at various organizations, including Merrill Lynch, PROCTER & GAMBLE, and Lucent Technologies. He is a member of the Alumni Board at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity.
