Sherwood Lingenfelter is an accomplished leadership formation expert, consultant, and writer with over three decades of experience in various leadership positions. He is an Associate Professor of Leadership Formation and Senior Fellow for De Pree Center for Leadership at the Fuller Theological Seminary. Sherwood has a Doctor of Philosophy - Ph.D. in Practical Theology, Leadership Formation, M.Div. in Practical Theology, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Speech Communication, all from Fuller Theological Seminary and California State University-Northridge, respectively.

Before joining the Fuller Theological Seminary, Sherwood served as Vice President, Chief of Leadership Formation, Vice President for Vocation and Formation, and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at the same institution. Additionally, Sherwood worked as a consultant and Executive Coach at TAG Consulting, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at San Clemente Presbyterian Church, and Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood.

Sherwood's core strengths include leadership development, coaching, thinking about systems, collaboration, and problem-solving. He invests in leaders, teaches, speaks, and writes about leading change in the middle of external disruption and internal resistance. Sherwood also leads a team of people who are leading change. He enjoys hiking, asking questions, scribbling on napkins, and storytelling.
