We all love shopping for the best/ newest/ most luxurious cosmetic but can't get our heads around paying full price for a five-star lipstick, or an awesome bronzer, or the much-needed-for-maintenance high-tech skin care (which we're launching in spring '17). And we believe there are lots of other women out there like us.

REN Skincare was backed by Unilever Ventures between May 2015 who are the Venture Capital and Private Equity Arm of Unilever. The business was exited to Unilever Prestige in July 2017.
Launched in UK in 2000 by two brand consultants. REN is a results-driven skincare brand that uses natural actives and adopts a “clean” positioning eschewing skin-unfriendly synthetic ingredient.
The brand is distributed in 49 countries worldwide and employs circa 70 people.

Reporting to the Group CEO and responsible for Operations, Finance, HR, Office Management, IT & Legal as well as supporting the commercial functions.

Responsibilities:
-  Provide sound financial information to ensure correct financial and operational decisions are made
-  Proactively manage the cash position of the company and minimise FX risk
-  Preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies.
-  Responsibility for Supply Chain to ensure immediate and future needs can be met

The Kao Corporation is a Japanese company with a turnover of circa £10bn and 35,000 employees. There are 3 divisions within the UK that sell and distribute brands to consumers as well as professional salons; Kao UK with brands such as John Frieda, Jergens & Biore; KPSS UK with professional haircare brands such as Goldwell & KMS; and Molton Brown which sells through owned stores as well as other distribution channels.

Reporting to the VP Finance EMEA, sitting on the boards and responsible for all financial aspects of both Kao UK & KPSS UK as well as leading the financial accounting shared service centre across Kao UK, KPSS UK and Molton Brown.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, providing Business analysis support to the Sales teams, managing financial processes relating to Sales whilst leading a team of 28 including 5 direct reports. The team is made up of two parts, Business Analysis & the Customer Marketing agreements team. The CMA team is responsible for ensuring trade investment accruals are accounted for accurately, processing customer invoices and ensuring our contracts are documented and controls are adhered to. This team is made up of clerks, part qualified & qualified accountants. I was responsible for Business Analysis only until Feb 2009 when I took on the additional responsibility for the CMA team of 15 people.

Responsibilities:
-  Managing and developing an extended team of 28 professionals
-  Business Partnering the VP Sales & the 4 Sales Directors to ensure sales are driven in the most profitable way.
-  Leading the team in preparation of annual gross profit plan.
-  Leading the team in preparation of monthly volume, gross profit and Customer Operating Profit forecasts and any other financial projections the business requires.

Reporting to the L’Oreal Paris Financial Controller, providing financial support to the marketing, merchandising, PR & market Research functions for the UK & Ireland.

Responsibilities:
-  Support the Marketing Director to ensure marketing spend is being deployed to deliver optimal ROI.
-  Manage the marketing P&L and act as the link between the marketing team and the Financial Controller by providing information about how the marketing plans are evolving and the impact of these on the overall P&L.
-  Review and authorise all marketing, merchandising, PR & market research spend and ensure plans are in place and executed to ensure full year spend targets are met.
-  Manage the relationship with the creative and media buying agencies by ensuring all plans reflect the latest activities, and resolving any invoicing queries.
-  To ensure the monthly reporting requirements for the L’Oreal Paris division are met and transmitted to headquarters by the agreed deadlines.

-  Responsibilities include providing financial support to other members of the management team to help make strategic decisions for the future performance of the site.
-  As a member of the management team, providing guidance from a financial perspective on improving the site’s productivity and reducing its cost base.
-  Responsible for monitoring and reporting the performance of both plants on site.
