Gary Sheng, a social entrepreneur and former software engineer team lead at Google, recently made the Forbes 30 Under 30 2021 List in the Social Impact division for co-founding Civics Unplugged, a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) social enterprise that empowers leaders of Gen Z to become civic innovators. Sheng quit his engineering job to commit himself fully to building tools, systems, and movements that empower people to become agents of building a more resilient and humanistic future. Sheng's passion for sustainable growth-focused business process and product design, his exceptional interpersonal skills, his ability to thrive in ambiguity and navigate complexity, and his "whatever it takes" mentality are the four features that define him professionally. He has spoken for TEDx and SXSW about the future of democracy and the power of revolutionary new technology. Sheng studied a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Duke University and a High School Diploma at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
