Kate Jurd, a leading figure in the field of educational technology, has spent the last 15 years at Toowoomba Hospital in Queensland, Australia, developing and delivering eLearning and blended learning solutions for post graduate medical education. She is dedicated to improving learning experiences through innovative design and emerging technologies.

During her career, Kate has introduced a range of online training programs and eLearning initiatives for junior doctors, as well as supporting senior clinicians in their supervision, assessment, and teaching roles. In 2017, Kate won the Queensland Women in Technology ICT professional award for her proficiency in educational technology. Currently, she is working on a secondment at the Medical Education Unit of the Mackay Hospital Health Service, developing online learning resources and assisting in the implementation of the redesign of the curriculum.

Kate is leveraging technology to develop and support health and wellbeing programs for students and doctors, reflecting her passion for promoting health and wellness in the workplace. She is also a part-time eLearning specialist with the University of Queensland Rural Clinical School, leading the RCS technology-enhanced learning initiative.

In her personal life, Kate studied her Higher School Certificate at New England Girls School and went on to complete her Master’s Degree with a focus on Educational Technology at the University of Southern Queensland. She is a former Marketing Manager at Australian Society of CPAs and brings a wealth of experience to her current role.
