Network Transportation Technician

Currently working through ACP as a Contractor for SEGRA Communications. Maintaining sites, installing Fiber and network equipment to support the growing need for higher and faster speeds. Enjoy being in a fast paced world and making things work. We work on everything from Pots lines up to 100Gig circuits so its very challenging and rewarding at the same time.

ACP Fiber Services  Assigned to Segra

- Filled many positions as needed during my 20 Year Career at Windstream. (NewSouth/Nuvox/Win) Worked in Technician, Lead Tech roles, and Manager roles stayed engaged on the equipment.
-  Managed all aspects of network equipment, manpower, and customer experience for South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia markets while navigating all company transitions, mergers and technology changes.
-   Performed on PM's for site generators, air handlers, fire suppression, and building  maintenance. Handled the work we could internally and worked with Vendors on bigger PMs and down systems,
-   Worked hard keeping all customer and network installation work internal while achieving installation deadlines and controlling our high quality standards.
-   Managed teams throughout my career ranging from twelve to twenty two network and field technicians, including training, reporting, team building, time sheets, inventory, dispatching, evaluations, schedules, and limiting expenses and overtime.
-   Interfaced with all internal and external departments to turn up, maintain, and monitor service and equipment with Engineering, NOC, Customer Repair, and Service Activation teams.
-   Installed and Maintained network gear in Company Central Offices, Colo Sites, Data Centers, Fiber Regen sites and Rooftop Radio sites

Equipment Installed and Maintained: Lucent 5e, DMS-100, Sonus Network Soft Switch, Alcatel 1630 & 1631, Tadaran ECI dacs, Lucent DMX, Cisco 7206 and 7600, Juniper Core Routers, DWDN, Cisco ONS-15454, Calix Z77, Calix Z33, Infinera Network Gear, Adtran Mux equipment (3000,2800,2820,4303), Hatteras 4000, Eastern Research Dacs, Generators, ATS, Rectifiers, Lucent 4848, Battery Plants, UPS systems, Adtran 600/900 Series, Cisco CPE Gear, SD-WAN, VeloCloud,  VOIP, TDM, T1 to 100 Gig Circuits  Lan/Wan, OSP (Copper and Fiber), and Low Voltage Cabling. Also knowledgeable on TTC/JDSU Test sets and OTDR shots.

Utilized many different work skills to provide industry leading communications to Duke power customer offices, work centers, and remote microwave/fiber sites.  Rotated through multiple groups, including PBX Group (installed and maintained all phone systems), Transport Group (installed and maintained all fiber and microwave equipment), Data Group (worked on Token Ring circuits, controllers, and IBM computers), and Radio Group (installed, maintained, and routined base station and all fleet radios).

Completed 9 month Tech school that included Electronics and Radar classes at Keesler AFB Biloxi Miss.
Traveled throughout the Southeast United States utilizing our radar to train Fighter pilots.
