Wayne Gilmore

Wayne Gilmore holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Boston University and has amassed over 20 years of experience in managing, planning, and executing University-wide research computing solutions. As the Director of Research Computing at Boston University, Wayne leads a dedicated team focused on aiding researchers in effectively utilizing high-performance computing, visualization, and network resources to drive the university's research mission forward. His primary responsibility involves overseeing the Shared Computing Cluster (SCC), a Linux cluster with over 19000 cores and 7 PB of storage that caters to both centrally-funded components and researcher-funded components within one unified system. Wayne and his team also oversee Boston University's Tier 2 site for CERN's LHC ATLAS project, housed at the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), a research data center shared with four other universities.
