Bobby Lo is an accomplished independent startup advisor and generalist investor with extensive experience in the consumer and mobile technology industries. He has founded and co-founded several successful companies, generating over $500M in shareholder value, and has been a keynote speaker at prominent conferences such as TechCrunch Disrupt, SXSW, DLD, and Founders Forum. Lo's latest startup, Vurb, developed a new mobile search paradigm that won TechCrunch Disrupt NYC in 2014 and was later acquired by Snapchat, where Lo worked closely with the CEO on various projects that delighted millions of daily users. He is an experienced advisor to startups at all stages, offering guidance on product strategy, user experience and design, fundraising and investor intros, partnerships, organizational design and processes, engineering and technical architecture. As a passionate product expert, Lo is hands-on and provides blunt feedback on product and design, engaging in whiteboarding sessions with founders. He invests independently with his own capital, collaborating with many top venture investors. Lo holds three degrees from MIT in EE, CS, and Management from the Sloan School and enjoyed being a management consultant at BCG, focusing on tech, consumer, and hospitality.
