Andrew Birnberg is a computational engineer at Sana Biotechnology, Inc. who has an impressive educational and professional background in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology, and software engineering. He obtained his post-baccalaureate science prerequisites for graduate study in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at New York University, Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology at UC Berkeley, and Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology at Reed College. Moreover, he is a certificate holder of machine learning, which he earned at General Assembly.

Before joining Sana Biotechnology, Inc., Andrew has worked as a Bioinformatics Engineer at Genentech and a Graduate Student Researcher at University of California, Berkeley. He had also been a Laboratory Technician at UC Berkeley before his graduate studies. In his current position, he uses his knowledge in software programming, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to develop computational tools and pipelines for drug discovery research.
