Lee Miller is a highly accomplished geospatial data scientist with a background in remote sensing, atmospheric modeling, and public outreach. With a PhD in Geowissenschaften from the University of Hamburg and an MA in Geography from the University of Maryland, Miller has worked in a variety of scientific roles, including at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Harvard University, and the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry.

At the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Miller worked as a senior research scientist and engineer before leaving to pursue roles at Harvard and Atmospheric and Environmental Research. He is now back at PNNL as part of a new Geospatial Intelligence initiative, where he will leverage his knowledge of modeling, data science, satellite imagery, and public outreach to drive innovation in this exciting new field.
