Kathryn Kolbert
Kathryn Kolbert is a highly accomplished public-interest attorney, journalist, and entrepreneur who has made a significant impact on reproductive freedom in the United States. She began her career as an attorney at the Women's Law Project before moving onto the American Civil Liberties Union's Reproductive Freedom Project, where she served as State Coordinating Counsel. As a co-founder and Vice President of the Center for Reproductive Rights, she played a pivotal role in advancing the reproductive rights of women in the Supreme Court. In 1992, she won a landmark case, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which is credited with saving Roe v. Wade.
Kolbert is also known for her leadership skills, having held several executive positions throughout her career. She served as President and CEO of People For the American Way and as the Constance Hess Williams Director and Professor of Leadership Studies at Barnard College. She also co-founded the Athena Film Festival, which celebrates women's leadership on screen.
