William Rutter is an accomplished experience designer with a passion for tackling complex human systems. He is particularly interested in using a strategic research-first approach to produce socially responsible innovation. William honed his craft at top institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and a Master of Arts in Design, respectively. He also completed various certificate programs and courses in UX Design and Fundamentals.

William is the principal at Wrye Design Lab, LLC, where his expertise in experience design comes to life. He is also a former founding contributor of Positive Sum Design Institute and experience research lead and design program manager at iBiology. William has contributed to various organizations, serving as a former steering committee member of Machine Learning & User Experience San Francisco (MLUXSF), UX researcher and designer at GrowthX Academy, usability research & design consultant at Newyu, Inc., among others.

In his spare time, William enjoys the great outdoors, having completed Leadership, Risk Management, Outdoorsmanship courses through NOLS. He also has a penchant for music, serving in various leadership positions at MIT Logarhythms.
