Laura Wood is a highly accomplished and experienced professional with an educational background in psychology. She obtained both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in psychology from Abilene Christian University. Her extensive experience in the fields of counseling and psychology includes working with Kids in a New Groove as an executive director and program manager, as well as with The Bair Foundation as a director of intake.
As an executive director at Kids in a New Groove, Ms. Wood was responsible for providing music lessons and instruments to children in foster care, helping them to achieve their full potential and enhance their cognitive and emotional development. In her role as program manager, she supervised the implementation of various programs to support the well-being of foster children, provided training and support for volunteers and mentors, and oversaw the organization's day-to-day operations.
Prior to her work with Kids in a New Groove, Laura Wood worked as a director of intake at The Bair Foundation, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of foster children by screening and placing them in safe and nurturing homes.
