Liz Turner

Liz Turner is a renowned consultant and development economist with over two decades of experience in international development, specializing in trade, regional integration, private sector development, market systems, and agriculture. She has an extensive background in designing, implementing, and evaluating various projects and programs, especially focusing on complex multi-country initiatives and M&E frameworks.

With a strong focus on trade and development, Liz has collaborated with esteemed clients such as the Commonwealth Secretariat, World Bank, WTO, and various governmental bodies. Her expertise includes trade policy formulation and implementation, trade economics, negotiations, regional integration, aid for trade, aid effectiveness, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, institutional development, private sector development, and project management.

Having conducted research in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly East Africa, Liz Turner holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Nottingham and an MSc from the University of Reading. Throughout her career, she has held key roles at organizations like The Development Hub, Itad, Trade Advocacy Fund, Saana Consulting Ltd, and has contributed significantly in positions such as Trade Economist, Research Fellow at ODI, and Economist at UNCTAD and various academic institutions.
