Anindya Sen

Anindya Sen, a renowned expert in data and behavioral analytics, serves as a Professor of Economics and the Director of the Master of Public Service Program at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Economics from Concordia University.

Apart from his academic role, Professor Sen is the President of Empirical Policy and Analysis Consulting, focusing on utilizing data analytics, behavioral economics, cost-benefit techniques, and econometric models to tackle policy issues, analyze market trends, and conduct damages analysis.

He has consulted for prominent provincial and federal organizations like the Competition Bureau, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada, and the Independent Energy Supply Operator, along with public advocacy groups such as the Association of Major Power Consumers of Ontario, the Canadian Independent Petroleum Marketers Association, and others.

Professor Sen actively engages in Big Data analysis with selected private sector clients. His extensive research, often in collaboration with the C.D. Howe Institute, has played a pivotal role in shaping efficient markets in Ontario for various commodities, including alcohol and electricity.
